On the situation in Syria and issues of the Armenian community “A1+” interviewed founder and editor of “Azad Hye Middle East” news website Hrach Kalsahakian, who lives in the United Arab Emirates. The latter always gets information about the developments. -How are you informed about the developments in Syria? Currently is there support by the Armenian side or not? - I learn about the developments in Syria through my friends and relatives as well as due to being the admin of Facebook group “Aleppo Armenians”. By the way, dozens of Armenian journalists are members of that group and they follow the news about Aleppo and other regions of Syria and report to Armenians living in the RA and abroad. I can remember the last example, which was our call for withdrawing Armenian children and schoolchildren from Aleppo, which reached the Armenian media due to the group. Fortunately, the RA Prime Minister responded to that call and informed that the Government was ready to do everything to receive those children in Armenia. - During the recent days the situation has been tense there. What can you say about it? - Yes, the situation is very tense and extremely dangerous. It is a historic and crucial period for Aleppo. There is a great wave of migration. During the last week 500-700 Armenians left Aleppo because of bombings of Suleymaniye district. The wave is currently going on. The city hasn’t had electricity and drinking water for three days. There has been no Internet for a month. The relatives cannot connect each other. People are sad and worried facing their uncertain fate. We are witnessing the degradation of the city, the degradation of the whole community.
