“One more khachkar, Doctor of Universal Church Gregory of Narek looks down from heaven,” said Galust Sahakyan at the opening ceremony of the monument in Parakar dedicated to the Armenian Genocide. Speaker of the parliament assures that though the mankind was silent, people must feel that without Armenians they are incomplete, as the Armenian nation was in the center of world culture, “After the Genocide Armenians were able to prove the world that world is weak, when there are genocides and wars.” Today Galust Sahakyan looks to the God and feels that the world mustn’t have remained silent, but it did. At the time we were 10 million, but today- during commemoration days of the Genocide we are more than 10 million, “We aren’t 10 million anymore. Those, who forcefully changed their religion under tortures, return to our ranks.” We will continue our fight, but we won’t think that they will recognize the Genocide. They also must be civilized in order to recognize the Genocide. He reminded about the mass of the Pope, which recognized our Gregory of Narek, “An individual, who was able to speak to God, an individual, who was able to introduce the world to God, an individual, who was canonized in the universe.” Galust Sahakyan says that today the whole world is with us, and we must be able to make our work manageable, “In this era of forget-me-nots, I think that time will come when we will listen to Komitas as art of the highest quality, but we won’t get weak and feel sorry for our victims.”
