“Gems and wine” in New York dedicated to the Centennial

Yesterday the 36th annual “Literary Gems and Wine” commemorative event of the Nationwide Armenian Educational and Cultural Association was held at the Armenian center in New York dedication to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. The event was opened by the Chair of the Association Astghik Sevak. The whole event was conducted by famous Armenian American writer, Doctor Hrant Margaryan, who said in his speech, “This manual will make happy not only the members of the Association, but only those who are interested in Armenian literature, who want our literature to be remembered especially by the youth. This manual was founded 36 years ago. I am happy that today young people of the age 18-30 are taking part in the event and are going to read poems and other works by Armenian writers.” During the event the works of Siamanto, Daniel Varuzhan, Zhak Hakobyan, Aram Haykaz, Vahan Tekeyan, Shahan Shahnur, Paruyr Sevak, Gevorg Emin, Yeghishe Charents and others were read. The works of the writers were performed by Tamar Harutyunyan, Husher Pztikyan-Khalikyan, Yeraz Margaryan, Arthur Ipek, Arpine Kocharyan, Nazaret Margaryan, Liza Yesayan, Mher Janoyan, Tamar Samuelyan, Nicolas Arakelyan and others.
