Demo in front of the US Embassy (video)
Today ARF “Nikol Aghbalyan” Student Association and members of the youth associations have held a protest action near the US Embassy with the Armenian Tricolor, ARF flags and slogans to recognize and condemn the Armenian Genocide. They called on the USA to recognize the Genocide in Ottoman Turkey in 1915, to pressure on Turkey to recognize and compensate. Political and Economic Section Chief of the US Embassy in Armenia Brian Roraff approached the action participants, listened to their demands, took the letter and promised to send it to the White House. ARF young representatives informed him that in 17 countries of the world similar actions are held and letters are handed to the Embassies. During the action, some of the protesters closed their mouths with hands as a sign of protest and demand and sat on the ground.
