Aram Hakobyan, one of the members of the Founding Parliament opposition movement who were detained earlier this week, has been released after paying AMD 500 000, lawyer Tigran Yegoryan told A1+. Hakobyan, who heads the Gyumri office of the Founding Parliament movement, was detained on Tuesday, April 7, with several other FP members who are charged with ‘preparing mass disturbances’ during official events scheduled for April 24, when Armenians will be commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. After searching Hakobyan’s house on April 7, law enforcement officials said they had found a grenade in the roof of his house. In the meantime, FP members claimed that the grenade was placed in the house of Hakobyan’s neighbour by the order of law enforcement authorities.
