In what case our judo wrestlers will refuse to leave for Baku (video)
Judo Federation of Armenia presented 5 participants at the first European Games in Baku, said Secretary General of the Judo Federation Davit Khitaryan during the press conference at “Tesaket” press club. “We have chosen Hovhannes Davtyan (60 kg), Arsen Ghazaryan (66 kg), Davit Nikoghosyan (73kg), Andranik Chaparyan (81kg) and Zhanna Stankevich (52kg).” Asked whether it is possible that the number of our participants will increase before the launch of the Games, Davit Khitaryan said, “Decrease in the number of participants is possible, but increase isn’t. We have already sent our list on April 8 and it cannot be changed.” Secretary General of the Judo Federation of Armenia stresses the importance of the first European Games as at the same time it is considered to be the championship of the continent and the best judo wrestlers will take part in it, “First of all we pin our hopes on experienced judo wrestler Hovhannes Davtyan.” Davit Khitaryan thinks that only in one case Armenia must refuse those games, “If the political situation changes drastically, we will refuse our participation. And there is one more case, if the Government of Armenia doesn’t allow us to leave for Baku.”
