Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) press secretary Vahan Babayan is sure that the protest actions titled “Centennial without the regime” initiated by the Founding Parliament ahead of April 24 won’t give any positive result, “Such calls can undermine the rating of our state in the international community. After Berdzor events on March 28 in Gyumri violence was used against the members of the Founding Parliament- eggs were thrown at the participants of the rally and a member of the Founding Parliament- Hrachik Mirzoyan was stabbed. Vahan Babayan considers the acts of violence to be unacceptable and thinks that the law enforcement authorities must control the internal stability of the country, but at the same time he adds, “Within the frames of the events in the society and Gyumri, including the well known events in Berdzor, the people can express their anger and viewpoints not only within frames of law, culture or ethics, as it relates to the national values and respect for the memory of Centennial of the Armenian Genocide in general.” Lawmaker of the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) doesn’t understand the steps of Zhirayr Sefilyan and the Founding Parliament, especially when no parliamentary and extra-parliamentary power supports them, “When  a part of the society rejects it, doesn’t accept it, there is a problem which must be discussed.” He also condemns the acts of violence, but he reminds that Centennial of the Genocide mustn’t be used for such purposes, “I must again call on our compatriots including Zhirayr Sefilyan not to manipulate April 24 and Centennial of the Genocide so that everybody understands that we must commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Genocide together.” The Founding Parliament also urges not to pay bank loans and interest charges until the resignation of the existing criminal regime. Zhirayr Sefilyan also explained that the movement was going to remove the regime in a very short period of time, since April 24 in several days or weeks. “If we are speaking of a legal state, Zhirayr Sefilyan urges that the regime should resign and they are creating a legal state, so he must be the first to follow today’s laws” says Hovhannes Sahakyan. Does Zhirayr Sefilyan act out of desperation, when other opposition powers slow in the issue of regime change? Vahan Babayan thinks that regime change is connected with difficult calculations and they will give their assessments during regular elections, “Are there extraordinary elections in our country? At present we don’t have such an issue on our agenda as there is no motive for that.”
