Naira Zohrabyan declares BHK as opposition party (video)
Speaking at the National Assembly on March 23, the newly-elected head of the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) faction today declared the BHK as opposition party. Artsvik Minasyan, a lawmaker of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation-Dashnaktsutyun, said that the Standing Committee State and Legal Affairs, had turned down a bill submitted by Heritage lawmaker Zaruhi Postanjyan, demanding handover of Valery Permyakov, a Russian soldier charged with the murder of a seven-member family in Gyumri, to Armenian law enforcement agencies. He urged Zaruhi Postanjyan to wait a little until they sent inquiries to the competent authorities. Ms Postanjyan spoke in support of the bill, citing an incident that occurred to [writer] Grigor Zohrap. “On the eve of his death, Zohrab met one of the main perpetrators of the Armenian genocide–Talaat Pasha…” She was interrupted by Vice-Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov who said, “The reading of the bill is over.”
