Trees have not blossomed in Ararat valley, hence the sharp drop in temperature and heavy precipitation cannot affect fruit trees, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Garnik Petrosyan said on March 6. “Buds of apricot and peach trees are starting to swell,” he said. Some trees, in Meghri and Tavush marzes, including almond and apricot trees, are already in full blossom. Garnik Petrosyan says plants have an instinct of self-preservation and can survive low temperatures and harsh weather conditions.
