Law enforcement authorities in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic report that they have completed investigation into gross disciplinary violations by police officers who were maintaining public order during an automobile rally to Artsakh organized by the “100th anniversary without the regime” movement on January 31, 2015. In compliance with Decision N 515 of the NKR Government, the materials pertaining to the investigation will be reviewed and studied during the March 6 sitting of the Police Disciplinary Committee. On January 31, members of the Founding Parliament, a radical opposition initiative seeking a regime change in Armenia, tried to enter Karabakh in order to carry out a protest demonstration there. Near Berdzor, they were stopped by local police and masked special forces who forcefully blocked their access to the territory of Karabakh. Some of the participants, including Zhirayr Sefilyan, a former commander of the Shushi special detachment, political analyst Igor Muradyan and other freedom fighters were beaten up during the incident. Also, some vehicles of the automobile march were damaged.
