Criminal case launched with regard to the excess of the employment-related powers
Under the criminal case reviewed in Vardenis Investigation Department of the Police of the Republic of Armenia Nver M., accused of stealing ore materials form the gold mine together with a group of individuals reported that after search was made in his house in Vardenis on February 2014, the Police Employees of the Republic of Armenia brought him into the department where he was detained for 6 hours. During that time both the employee in charge of conducting a special service and the investigator in charge of reviewing the criminal case exerted a pressure upon him and he had to give testimonies inconsistent with the reality about both the organizer of the crime and other members of the group. A criminal case has been launched with regard to the excess of the employment-related powers by an official as per the materials prepared in the Special Investigation Service of the Republic of Armenia in accordance with Part 1 of Article 309 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. A preliminary investigation is underway. SIS
