The National Assembly today rejected the bill on “crisis in governance” co-authored by Levon Zurabyan, leader of the Opposition Armenian National Congress (HAK) faction, and Naira Zurabyan, Secretary of the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) faction. The bill failed after 16 lawmakers voted in favour, 67 against. Six MP abstained from the vote. When Parlaiment Speaker Galust Sahakyan put the next bill to the vote, Levon Zurabyan announced, “The discussions on the bill on “governance crisis” showed that the authorities cannot respond adequately to the situation and cannot understand that …” His sentence was left unfinished as Galust Sahakyan, without paying attention to Zurabyan, announced the start of voting.
