Armenian wrestlers to compete for World Cup
Today Armenian national team of Greco-Roman Wrestling will start its matches at Greco-Roman World Cup among teams in Tehran. This year 8 teams are taking part in the championship and they are divided into two groups. For entering the final Armenian team must compete with the national teams of Russia, Turkey and Hungary. The prize fund is 100 thousand dollars: the first place will receive 50 thousand, the second place- 30 thousand and the third place- 20 thousand dollars. It should be noted that our team has left for Tehran without the leading wrestlers- World Champion Arsen Julfalakyan and Arthur Alexanyan. Arthur Mkrtchyan, Gor Sirekanyan, Rafayel Alexanyan, Karapet Chalyan, Eduard Sargsyan, Maksim Manukyan, Vahe Simonyan and Edgar Khachatryan will represent Armenia at the championship. The coach of the team is Eduard Sahakyan. It should be noted that last year Armenia took the last place among 10 participants at the World Cup championship.
