Traders in Armenia who are staging a protest outside the Government building refused to meet Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan who had earlier agreed to receive a group of ten traders at 1.30 pm January 26. The group is protesting against the Law on Turnover Tax, which will come into effect on February 1. Under the new law, salespeople are required to track the inventory for each product. The protesters demand that the prime minister go out and answer their questions. They are chanting, “Prime Minister, suspend the law!” The traders state they will stay outside the building until their demands are met.
