Vardan Hakobyan: If our investigators are allowed to disclose the crime, they will do it in a couple of hours (video)
Vardan Hakobyan, a member of the Founding Parliament, says Valery Permyakov, the Russian soldier accused of killing the Avetisyan family in Armenia’s second largest city of Gyumri, is to be handed over to Armenian law enforcement authorities. It is no use making speculations over the Gyumri tragedy, he says. “If they allow our investigators to disclose the murder, they will do it in a couple of hours. The professional level of our investigators allows them to disclose any crime. They only need permission and authorization to probe into the murder of the Avetisyan family,” said Mr Hakobyan. Seryozha Avetisyan, his wife Hasmik, daughter Aida, son Armen, daughter-in-law Araksya, and two-year-old granddaughter Hasmik, were murdered in their home on January 12. Only a six month old boy survived, and was hospitalized with stab wounds. But he died in hospital a week later. Valery Permyakov, a Russian soldier stationed at Russian military base N102 in Gyumri, was arrested on January 12 when attempting to cross Armenia’s border with Turkey. He has confessed to the murders.
