Opposition in Armenia ended the year in disappointment, says political analyst Stepan Safaryan. “Opposition justifies Armenia’s accession to the Eurasian Economic Union. They say if they were in power in Armenia, the country would be a more faithful wife for Russia. As a result, Armenia smoothly became a member of the EEC, and Russia did not pay attention to the opposition’s claims as it was not going to change horses before crossing the river,” said Mr Safaryan. The political analyst says opposition in Armenia is not concerned about radical changes. “They could make use of many factors, including inflation, depreciation of the Armenian dram and take actions but they did not act,” he said.
