Court of Appeals to hear Shant Harutyunyan’s case next year
Today in the Court of Appeals during the first trial in the case of “Shant Harutyunyan and the friends” the case defenders have presented their complaints and mediated to justify their defendants. The trial lasted short as Armen Hovhannisyan’s defender Ara Zakaryan wasn’t present at the trial, Judge Arshak Khachatryan phostponed the session. It will be held on January 16. We remind that Shant Harutyunyan and hid friends were found guilty after the incidents on November 5 of last year for hooliganism and resistance to the government representative. Shant Harutyunyan was sentenced to six years in prison. Avetis Avetisyan, Liparit Petrosyan, Vardan Vardanyan – to five years, Albert Margaryan – to six years, Alek Poghosyan and Mkrtich Hovhannisyan – to four years, Armen Hovhannisyan – to two years, Hayk Harutyunyan – four years and six months, Sevak Mnatsakanyan – one year and six months, Tigran Petrosyan – one year, Vahe Mkrtchyan – seven years. Tigran Petrosyan has been already released. Misak Arakelyan was fined 50 thousand AMD. Shahen Harutyunyan was given a four-year probation period.
