“The authorities are trying to keep their position” (video)
By joining the EEU the authorities are trying to keep their position and not to develop the economy or ensure security in the country. It is the point of view of “Heritage” member Armen Martirosyan, who is against joining the union, “We have seen that after September 3 and various statements our security hasn’t increased, Russian-Azerbaijani military cooperation is deepening and economic consequences are expanding.” Such approach is unacceptable for the Republican deputy: the EEU must be observed as one complete chain. Artak Zakaryan thinks that we shouldn’t take a part of the chain and say that the part is bad. Artak Zakaryan doesn’t exclude the difficulties, but there will be such difficulties in case of joining any union, “Our entrepreneurs must work very hard, as no one will suggest them political and economic favorable conditions in case of closed borders.” “It seems like the market is expanding, but the big market has already existed. Since 1994 Armenia has had a treaty of free trade with Russia, it means that there must be development even today but there isn’t. And with Belarus and Kazakhstan it is very little.” Vice President of “Heritage” doesn’t exclude, positive processes are also possible in the EEU, only if the investments are increased.
