Margarita Galstyan is the oldest resident of Mutsk, a mountainous village in Sisian. Grandmother Margarita remembers her past life with pride, she says she worked day and night like a man. “There were only carts in 1941. In that year, I was sent to the Central Committee in Yerevan to meet Secretary Matsak Papyan. I mowed lawns with 5000 scythes a day,” recalls the elderly woman. “Today scythes are standing idle and becoming rusty. On the other hand, peasants do not want to work on the fields. Young people are leaving the village which has favourable conditions for farming and livestock breeding,” she said. “No man can be compared with my hubby. He was a man of the world and was good at science, labour and education. I have clever heirs who love and respect elderly people,” said Margarita Galstyan.
