Director of Apaven Freight Company Gagik Aghajanyan does not believe that the Abkhazian railway will be re-operated. Speaking about the importance of the railway for Armenia he linked it to the operation the Kars-Akhalkalaki railway. “After the latter is opened, Turkey will express desire to send its products directly to Russia by Abkhazian railway and it is here that the interests of Turkey and Armenia will coincide as both countries will try to export products to Russia via the same railway,” he said.
