Issuing of visas for up to 10 years starts today

Starting December 21, the U.S. Embassy in Yerevan starts issuing visas in accordance with a new reciprocal arrangement, the website of the U.S. Embassy reports. Armenian applicants who qualify for a B-category nonimmigrant visa (NIV) may now be issued multiple-entry visas for up to 10 years for business and tourist travel. Qualified Armenian students and exchange visitors and their dependents who qualify for F, M, or J-category visas are now eligible for multiple-entry visas valid for up to five years. Also effective January 1, 2015, U.S. citizens will be able to travel to Armenia visa-free and stay in Armenia for up to 180 days per calendar year. Earlier, it was reported that the visas will be issued starting January 1, 2015.
