Armenian Education Minister receives US Ambassador
Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan received on Wednesday U.S. Ambassador John Heffern, who is completing his diplomatic mission in Armenia. The two men discussed a number of issues of mutual interest. Armen Ashotyan thanked John Heffern for the implementation of several education programs in Armenia during his tenure. In particular, he thanked the U.S. Ambassador for rendering technical assistance to Armenian universities, assisting the participation of Armenian schoolchildren in FLEX exchange program and in many other issues. Ambassador Heffern, in turn, stressed that education is an important domain of bilateral cooperation and inquired about educational programs for the coming year as well as the ongoing educational reforms in the country. The interlocutors also discussed the prospects for future cooperation in the education sector.
