State Duma ratifies treaty on Armenia's EEU accession (video)
The State Duma, the lower house of the Russian parliament, has ratified the treaty on Armenia’s accession to the Eurasian Economic Union. The decision was taken unanimously. Before the vote, Russian lawmakers spoke about the centuries-old friendship between Russians and Armenians and stressed the importance of the membership. n accordance with the agreement, Armenia will become a member of the union after all the ratification procedures in the other two member countries - Belarus and Kazakhstan - are completed, but not earlier than January 1, 2015.
