About 92% of the 200 000 persons with disabilities that are officially registered in Armenia are unemployed. Save the Children Organization in cooperation with Unison NGO are implementing LIFE program in Armenia to identify the problems faced by people with disabilities (PWDs),  particularly in relation to employment. With the help of the program, over 400 PWDs have found job in Armenia. A photo exhibition entitled “Work” was held in Yerevan on November 28 where the works of PWDs were put on display. “All these people work in an integrated environment and have the employment opportunities as their co-workers. We tried to show that a PWD can work in any sector,” said Armen Alaverdyan, Chairman of Unison NGO. Ms. Jina Sargizova, Director of LIFE Program, says that 17 centres have opened in Armenia and marzes (provinces) that will help PWDs in job finding.  About 180 PWDs are already recruited by these centres. “Our studies show that PWDs want to become full members of society, to be able to cope with problems and earn their livelihood,” she said.
