Levon Shirinyan: Armenian leadership should not pay attention to the colour, shape and wishes of Georgian (video)

Armenian authorities have taken the role of a passive observer in connection with the reopening of the Georgian-Russian railway via breakaway Abkhazia, says political analyst Levon Shirinyan. He says this neutral position does not step from the interests of Armenia; the country was to express its opinion on the issue. The program has long-term strategic goals and derives stems from our interests,” said Mr Shirinyan. The expert believes that Kars-Akhalkalaki-Tbilisi-Baku railway will finally put Armenia in blockade while the Abkhazian railway [suggested by Russian President Vladimir Putin] can break through the blockade. “Kars-Akhalkalaki-Tbilisi-Baku railway,  a regional rail link project to directly connect Turkey, Georgia and Azerbaijan, aims to isolate Armenia,” he stressed. Mr Shirinyan reminds that for 25 years Armenian authorities have been carrying out a passive policy in Georgia.  “We are satisfied with the crumbs that are thrown at us. Armenia should be more active in its relations with Georgia; our leadership should do everything to comply with the country’s interests and never pay attention to the colour, shape and wishes of Georgians,” he said.
