Nairit plant employees to receive salaries for one month
At the end of the week, employees of Nairit plant will receive salaries for one month, Anush Harutyunyan, a spokesperson for the plant, told A1+. The plant owes 5 milliard 768 million drams to its employees. The administration promised to repay the debts by the end of the year. Nairit Plant CJSC, which produces chloroprene rubber and was considered a giant of its kind during the Soviet era, hasn’t been operating since 2010. Only 500 of its 2500 employees work in the plant today, others are on compulsory layoff. The plant was founded in 1940. The employees have not received salaries for 17-18 months. The plant’s debt totals 102 milliard 876 million drams.
