Republican MP: HHK will ratify EEU membership treaty alone (video)
A lawmaker of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) does not rule out that the HHK might ratify the treaty on Armenia’s accession to the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) alone. “If the non-governing forces in parliament were not engaged in political wanderings in the past year, the EEU membership treaty would receive the majority of votes but as the opposition trio or quartet is busy demanding a change of power, the HHK will ratify the treaty alone,” said Sukias Avetisyan. Even the statements made by the opposition trio about the EEU during their rallies did not change Avetisyan’s opinion. “After September 3 they criticized the EEU membership, then all of a sudden, everything g changed in a few months. I do not rule out that the opposition forces might change their position just before the voting.” The Republican MP says he has thoroughly studied the treaty but advises waiting a year to speak about its potential consequences.
