The three non-governing political forces in the Armenian parliament are going to call a special sitting of the National Assembly to discuss amendments to the RA Law on Electoral Law and the shift to a 100-percent proportional election system. Levon Zurabyan, Head of the Armenian National Congress (HAK) faction, said the issue had been discussed with the Armenian Revolutionary Federation – Dashnaktsutyun. “If the authorities express readiness to discuss the set of demands posed by the opposition, we shall make that step. Then we shall see whether the authorities will fulfill their promise or not. Our aim is to achieve success, otherwise, we shall prove that the authorities gave empty promises,” he said. The date of the special sitting will be announced after the next sitting of the three opposition forces.
