Vardan Petrosyan trial: Witness forgot to sign protocol
A court in Kotayk province today continued hearing of the case that involves Armenian actor Vardan Petrosyan. The latter is charged with negligent manslaughter, stemming from a fatal car crash in October 2013 in which two teenagers were killed and three others injured aas Petrosyan’s BMW collided with a Niva on the Yeghvard-Yerevan highway. The actor was also injured in the crash. Today the court questioned the witnesses in the case. Mkrtich Tarverdyan, a senior inspector at the Police Nairi Department was the first to testify in court. Tarverdyan was among the group that arrived on the scene after the accident. The witness had dim recollections of the investigation. Nor could he remember where the pieces of broken glass and parts of the damaged car were lying. The most striking is the fact that the police officer who was on the site of the accident ‘forgot’ to sing the protocol drafted by the investigator.
