The European Union is actively working to create a Russian-language news channel for the countries of Eastern Partnership - Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Moldova, and Ukraine, the Polish Press Agency (PAP) said on Friday. The news channel is being created under the auspices of the European Endowment for Democracy, which is headed by Pole Jerzy Pomianowski. The project has a working title of “European Television for the Eastern Partnership”, which is sometimes referred to as the “Voice of Europe”. The source says the Polish Foreign Ministry allocated three million Polish zloty ($1 million) to finance the channel the next year.
