A criminal case was instituted with regard to the case of beating and swindling

According to the report of Attorney-at-Law Armen M., a criminal case was instituted based on the materials prepared in the Special Investigation Service of the Republic of Armenia under Article 118 and Article 178 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. Attorney-at-Law Armen M. reported to the Special Investigation Service of the Republic of Armenia about the fact that on June 2014 the friend of the policeman of State Protection General Department of the Police of the Republic of Armenia asked him to help him purchase and import a “TOYOTA VITZ” car from abroad to the Republic of Armenia for the policeman. As per their arrangement, on September 2014 the car was shipped to the Republic of Armenia, but the technical condition of the car did not suffice the policeman, and to clarify the given matter on September 8, 2014 at about 7PM, in his office the policeman of the State Protection General Department of the Police of the Republic of Armenia and his friend by threatening and swearing at him demanded that he refund the money paid for the import of “Toyota Vitz” car to the Republic of Armenia and then beat him. In addition, Attorney-at-Law Armen M. reported to the Special Investigation Service of the Republic of Armenia about the fact that to clarify the matter related to the car on September 10, 2014 he once again met with the policeman, during which the later offered “Nissan Serena” imported for him in exchange for “Toyota Vitz” car plus the extra sum of 3100 USD equivalent 1 million 269 thousand Armenian Drams. Trusting the policeman Armen M. agreed and handed a notarized power of attorney, based on which the car was cleared through the customs and as per the sale/purchase contract it was registered under the policeman’s name, but the latter by fraud did not give the agreed extra payment. A preliminary investigation is under way.
