SIS: Police officer exceeded his authority
According to the report of Zaven G., a criminal case was instituted based on the materials prepared in the Special Investigation Service of the Republic of Armenia under Part 2 of Article 309 of the Criminal Code. According to the report of Zaven G., on September 24, 2014 at about 10:30, the employee of the District Police of Metsamor region of the RA Police rebuked him and quarreled about his making a turn in his car on a forbidden area, as a result of which the police officer by apparently exceeding his powers swore at him and struck him in the face. A preliminary investigation is under way, the SIS Press Service reports. The suspect or the accused of the alleged offence is deemed innocent unless his or her innocence is proved by virtue of the effective court verdict in the manner prescribed by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia.
