Yerevan Mayor to BHK Leader: We already have President in Armenia (video)
Leader of the opposition Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) Gagik Tsarukyan yesterday made a surprise statement about his readiness to run for president. Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan today was asked to comment on Tsarukyan’s unexpected statement. “I shall give a short and clear reply. It is his [Tsarukyan’s] personal business. We already have President in Armenia – Serzh Sargsyan, who is also leads my party [Republican Party of Armenia-HHK],” said Mr Margaryan. The mayor rules out a change of power in the country as he sees no basis for it. “We are all engaged in our work. I am convinced that only with our job and activity can we be able to show the people which party and which program is more successful,” he said.
