Spokesman for the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) Tigran Urikhanyan cannot understand why the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) should be surprised by the demand of the three non-governmental political forces to change power in Armenia. “We were repeatedly telling you to take measures against the alarming migration and poverty. We were telling you not to violate the Constitution,” Urikhanyan said addressing the authorities. “With their contempt and zero attitude, they [authorities] forced people to take to the street. We are going to deliver a powerful blow to them. With this aim, the three forces have joined their efforts and now we demand a change of government.” Stepan Margaryan, another BHK lawmaker, spoke about the 12-point demands submitted by the opposition forces to the government. “The country is falling apart, the three forces have united to save our country. Three months ago we posed to the authorities our main demands which make up the economic and political backbone of the country. Gyumri - the second largest city in population and importance - has the highest migration rates and economic recession. The authorities are not to blame for the grave situation. And if this government fails to address the existing problems, be sure it will be done by the new government,” he said.
