Marijuana and bribe money found in "Akhtamar" cigarette box

The preliminary investigation of the criminal case instituted with regard to the case of the assistance in the attempt of acquisition of a great amount of drugs and receiving a bribe has ended, reports the Press Service of the Special Investigation Service. The preliminary investigation evidences that on March 19, 2014 Garnik Nersisyan, the convict of “”Kosh” Criminal-Executive Institution made an agreement by phone with the Junior Specialist of the Protection Security Department of “Kosh” Criminal-Executive Institution of the Ministry of Justice, the Senior Sergeant of Justice and an Official conducting a State Special Service Narek Mamikonyan about the acquisition of “marijuana” drug through the him on bribe-giving condition. To commit a criminal intent, as per the agreement with Garnik Nersisyan who was the individual unidentified by the investigation, with an intention of illegally selling a great amount of “marijuana” drug, put “Akhtamar” cigarette box at the entrance of “Kosh” village of “Ashtarak-Gyumri” motor way which contained a great amount of drug and the bribe money. The box was taken by Narek Mamikonyan. He kept the bribe money with him and attempted to hand the drug to Garnik Nersisyan, but under the circumstances regardless of his will he was unable to accomplish the criminal intent. Narek Mamikonyan was charged in accordance with Paragraph 2 of Part 2 of Articles 38-34-268 of Civil Code of the Republic of Armenia and Part 1 of Article 311 of Civil Code of the Republic of Armenia. Garnik Nersisyan was charged in accordance with Paragraph 2 of Part 2 of Articles 34-268 of Civil Code of the Republic Armenia and Part 1 of Article 312 of the Civil Code. The criminal case along with the indictment was handed to the prosecutor in charge of exercising a control over the preliminary investigation for the approval and referral thereof to the court. The suspect or the accused of the alleged offence is deemed innocent unless his or her innocence is proved by virtue of the effective court verdict in the manner prescribed by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia.
