Armenian parliament official condemns destruction of Armenian church in Der ez-Zor
During his official visit to Prague, Vice-Speaker of the Armenian National Assembly has condemned the destruction of the Armenian Genocide Monument Church in Syria’s Der ez-Zor city. At the meeting with Miluše Horská, Deputy Speaker of the Czech Senate, Eduard Sharmazanov described the act of barbarism against the Armenian church as a vivid example of a cultural genocide d against Christian set of values. The Armenian official stressed that the blast was the logical continuation vandalism policies against the centuries-old Armenian khachkars and cemeteries in Nakichevan, and the Armenian cultural heritage in Turkey. Eduard Sharmazanov added that an appropriate condemnation of the earlier terrorist acts could have prevented the blast.
