The Eurasian Economic Union may create a development path for Armenia, says political analyst Ashot Manucharyan. “I have always said that we have two ways for development – the first option lies in the integrity of Armenian, which is not conducive to our authorities. The second is to have an alternative, in this case that alternative is the Eurasian Economic Union,” he said. Ashot Manucharyan says after the after the collapse of the Soviet Union, the world continues to impose sanctions against Russia and former Soviet countries and the EEU may become an opposing force. “All post-Soviet countries into a cemetery, young people are fleeing their countries. The Western banking system, which was introduced which was introduced in Armenia after the country proclaimed independence, left people under the burden of loan debts, destructing the country and making them flee their homeland. If that banking system is eliminated, people will return to their homes,” he said. Mr Manucharyan believes that the escalation of the Karabakh conflict was part of the sanctions applied by the West. “Armenian-Azerbaijani relations have always been strained, but the recent escalation stirred up by external forces,” he stressed. Speaking about the October 10 meeting of Russian, Belarusian and Kazakhstan Presidents, the political analyst said the agreement on Armenia's accession to the EEU might be ratified on that day.
