Dashnaktsutyun did not offer opposition troika to postpone rally for five days - Naira Zohrabyan

Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) lawmaker Naira Zohrabyan brushes aside the reports alleging that the Armenian Revolutionary Federation – Dashnaktsutyun offered the other opposition forces during their last meeting to delay the joint rally for five days. “My dear colleague form the Dashnaktsutyun faction, Armen Rustamyan will confirm my words,” she said. The BHK MP says during the sitting Dashnaks offered to postpone the rally until the government responds to their demands. But the opposition troika – Armenian National Congress (HAK), Heritage and BHK – could not postpone the rally for an indefinite time. Naira Zohrabyan says she honours Dashnaktsutyun’s decision not to take part in the joint rally. “We will try to work with the political parties that have a similar approach on the most important political issues,” she added. The BHK lawmaker does not exclude that on the eve of the rally, the authorities might start chasing her teammates or their relatives: they are always using the same methods. Naira Zohrabyan cannot predict if the rally might turn into a campaign challenging the Armenian government. The agenda includes the 12 political and economic demands that were issued to the Sargsyan administration in June and constitutional reforms.
