We thought that trenches exist only on the battlefield, but it turns out that the National Assembly is a battlefield for the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK), a senior representative of the opposition Armenian National Congress (HAK) said at the National Assembly today. Levon Zurabyan made the statement when commenting on Serzh Sargsyan’s appeal to his teammates that they should not leave parliament trenches. The opposition lawmaker says one of the main objectives of the authorities is to split the opposition quartet. “we wanted to show our people that the power is on the verge of bankruptcy - spiritual bankruptcy, as we cannot show their personal wealth,” said Mr Zurabyan. And it was not accidental that we raised an issue that showed their bankruptcy in the best way – the problem of migration. We raised the issue but, as you see, there was no reaction. The authorities understand that by speaking on the matter they get more mired in problems. By the way, we did not give up and have addressed an official letter to our authorities,” he continued. Speaking about the recent interview of Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) Leader Gagik Tsarukyan, the HAK lawmaker said, “BHK’s meetings and discussions do not cause doubt. Gagik Tsarukyan says publically that Serzh Sargsyan cannot be re-elected. This means that we are in a qualitatively new situation when people will have the final word.”
