Director of the Air Armenia Company Arsen Avetisyan is surprised at the statement of a Russian company that they stop operating incoming flights [to Russia] because of accumulated debts. “We make payments in the Russian rubbles and today we owe them 107 thousand dollars which will be paid in due order. The statement is really surprising. We have always worked in this way,” Arsen Avetisyan said on Friday. In reply to the observation that the Russian company fears that it may have the fate of the former national carrier, Mr Avetisyan said all Russian airports work on a prepayment basis. Although he does not know the reasons, Mr Mr Avetisyan is convinced that it is not advantageous to certain carriers.  “Perhaps, they want Air Armenia to have the fate of Armavia, but they will not see it,” he said.
