Armenia increases export of watermelon and peaches
As of September 5, 15.500 tons of tomatoes were purchased in Armenia for AMD 40-70 drams per kilo. About 7800 tons of tomatoes were purveyed during the same period in 2013. The country exported 1630 tons of peaches during the reporting period. Overall 977 tons of peaches were exported last year, mainly to Russia. Also, Armenia exported 1255 tons of watermelon to Georgia in 2014. The country did not export watermelon in 2013, the Ministry of Agriculture reports.
