• Police officers failed to undertake measures to detect crime

    Citizen Alfred B. filed a verbal report with the Central department of Yerevan city Administration of the Police of the Republic of Armenia about the theft committed in his apartment located at Khorenatsi Str., Bld. 25, Yerevan. Once the alarm is received, the two police officers rushed to Alfred B.’s apartment, but did not accept the report about the offence committed and did not perform their duties to detect the offence, the SIS Press Service reports.
    On the same day Alfred B. gave the second alarm to the Central Department of Yerevan city Administration of the Police of the Republic of Armenia. Upon the second alarm this time an investigator who dropped in at his apartment with an intention of concealing the violations committed by his colleagues recorded false information about the examination of the offence.
    A criminal case was instituted with regard to the case in accordance with Articles 308 and 315 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.
    A preliminary investigation is under way.

    The suspect or the accused of the alleged offence is deemed innocent since his or her innocence is not proved by virtue of the effective court verdict in the manner prescribed by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia.
