Armenian lawmakers get pay rise

Members of Armenia’s National Assembly will get higher salaries starting from July 1, Pasinfo reports.

The Law on Remuneration of Persons Holding Public Offices that entered into force on July 1, envisages introduction of a new system of a new remuneration system and a drastic increase in the salaries of persons employed in the public sector, including legislators.

Under the new law, the salary of the Parliament Speaker will increase to AMD 1 190 000 instead of the current AMD 340 000. The monthly salary of lawmakers will be raised from AMD 300 000 to AMD 660 000.
