There is a problem of religious and ethnic intolerance between Armenian and Georgian peoples, Armenia’s Justice Minister Hovhannes Manukyan said commenting on the recent incident at an Armenian Church in Tbilisi, during which about 50 Georgians attacked and beat clergymen in the church.
Before his appointment as Minister, Hovhannes Manukyan served as Armenia’s Ambassador to Georgia. He sees Georgia as a ‘strategic pathway’ for Armenia. “Georgia is an important partner for us in foreign policy: Armenia should better its relations with Georgia,” he stressed.
