Soldier arrested on suspicion of murdering fellow serviceman
A soldier has been detained in Armenia on suspicion of killing his comrade-in-arms. Private Armen Sargsyan is suspected of murdering Gevorg Avagyan, born in 1994, on Friday morning. Gevorg Avagyan received a fatal gunshot wound at around 7a.m. at one of the posts near a Defense Army unit situated in the southern direction. The Investigation Service of the Armenian Ministry of Defense opened a criminal case on murder charges. Investigation is underway to clarify the details of the incident. The Ministry offered condolences to the killed soldier’s family and friends.
