ALAN HOVHANNESS CHAMBER ORCHESTRA CELEBRATING 20th ANNIVERSARY
Support A1+!Alan Hovhanness chamber orchestra is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.
A free concert is to be held Tuesday night in Yerevan Chamber Music House.
“I accomplished as conductor after working with this orchestra. We have performed more than 50 musical compositions, 30 of which were premiered”, the orchestra conductor Meruzhan Simonyan said.
Russian American piano player Arton Bergofsky will perform with the orchestra.
“I was always dreaming to tour Armenia, come to an Armenian church and hear a mess. After hearing it I understood where Alan Hovhanness music came from”, Bergofsky said.
He said he liked also Aram Khachatryan’s compositions.
Culture minister Hovik Hoveyan has promised to help the orchestra to print booklets and rent a hall, but so far nothing is done.
The second concert is scheduled for December 9.
