In the morning, employees of Nairit plant held a march from the plant to the government building. They had to walk over 7 km to get to the government and demand their unpaid salaries. Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan, who was hurrying to participate in the cabinet sitting, stopped to talk to the angered protesters. He promised to meet with a group of 20 employees after the sitting and discuss the matter with them. The head of the government said they need to find out who is guilty in the matter. Armenia’s chemical giant rubber-producing Nairit plant has not paid salaries for 15 months.
