FIFTH MOUNTAIN IS TRANSLATED BY VAHAN TERYAN’S GREAT-GRANDDAUGHTER

Culture

Now, when prominent Brazilian writer Paulo Coelho is in Armenia, nobody remembered the fact that his Fifth Mountain book was translated from Portuguese to Russian by Muscovite Anahit Emin, Armenian famous poet Vahan Teryan’s great-granddaughter and poet Gevorg Emon’s granddaughter.

Anahit, 28, has been graduated from Moscow Institute of International Relations. She knows five languages.

The translator wanted to visit her motherland and meet with Coelho. A representative of the Hamazgain culture organization, which invited the writer, was told about that but Anahit’s request remained without response even when she said all trip expenses would be borne by her.

The translator’s relatives expressed hope that the writer, at least, will get known that Fifth Mountain is translated by her.
