Airline company disseminates false information on ticket prices
Based on the numerous complaints, the State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition (SCPEC) launched an investigation into the activities of the UTair Armenia (UTair Aviation) airline company. According to the complaints, the company spread false information that it is carrying out Moscow-Yerevan-Moscow flights for €49 with one direction. The SCPEC studies revealed that one direction tickets offered by the company cost €126.48. It was also found out that the UTair Leasing Ltd., which is registered in Russia, is the 100-percent shareholder of UTair Armenia, and it determines the latter’s pricing and advertising policies, whereas UTair Armenia only deals with ticket sales. In fact, the complaints refer to a Russia-based company. The SCPEC has decided to forward the complaints and the material at hand to Russia for further investigation.
