Valeri Osipyan still in office
Valeri Osipyan continues to hold the position of Deputy Chief of Yerevan Police despite the charges brought against him. “His duties of office are not yet suspended,” a representative of the RA Police told Pastinfo news agency. According to non-official sources, the criminal case is connected with a June 2 incident that involved Sedrak Osipyan, a nephew of Valeri Osipyan. During the brawl Osipyan stabbed Vanush Alexanyan, 22. Alexanyan was taken to hospital, where he underwent surgery. According to press reports, the police official tried to shift the blame on Sargis Hovhannisyan, 23, another participant in the brawl.
